About the Batch File
The batch files attached to this article will gather the following types of information about your system:
- Basic characteristics, such as operating system, processor, amount of RAM
- Installed hotfixes, running processes
- Environment variables
- Registry settings related to FME and products from other vendors with which FME interacts or could conflict (ArcGIS, Oracle, etc.)
- Locations of FME and other relevant installations and contents of key configuration files
- Contents of license files
- Contents of key log files. Note that we may require further log files not included in the report, depending on the issue we are investigating
No settings will be changed by the script. The output is a basic HTML file, which you may also wish to view yourself in order to investigate issues you are having running FME. This guide to interpreting the system_information.bat file will help you to better understand the results in the HTML report.
