Are you encountering issues with Resources in FME Flow (formerly FME Server)? Please read below for some common troubleshooting tips, questions and resources.

Initial Troubleshooting

Common Issues

“Why are my jobs failing when trying to read from/write to a resource path?”

The account running the FME Flow Core, Engine, and Application Server services needs to have read/write permissions to the FME Flow System Share. For more information see the documentation

“How do I create a resource for a mapped network drive location?”

FME Flow Resources do not support mapped network drive paths. Instead, create a new network-based resource, and enter the UNC path for the network drive location.

For performance reasons, it is not advised to add an entire drive as a network-based resource. If you do, please be aware that you may encounter slower performance when browsing the network resource on FME Flow as well as errors when writing to the root, due to security constraints.

“How do I change the location of my FME Flow System Share?”

The FME Flow System Share is defined during installation and cannot be modified post-install. We recommend that you perform an upgrade operation (even if you are 'upgrading' to the same version of FME Flow). At the Install procedure (after Backup and Uninstall), select a Distributed/Fault Tolerant installation. During the install, on the FME Flow System Share dialog, specify the path to the new location. After reinstalling, perform a Restore [Documentation].

“Why are data uploads are not working on my FME Flow?”

Please verify that the user has permission to use the Data Upload service. Also, check that your service URLs are correct (System Configuration > Network & Email > Services). You may want to check with your IT that no anti-virus, proxy, or firewall is blocking upload requests.

“Why are my FME Flow logs not updating?”

The account running the FME Flow Core, Engine, and Application Server services needs to have read/write permissions to the FME Flow System Share. For more information see the documentation

“How can I access data that I have uploaded or written to my FME Flow Hosted instance with my local machine?”

Please see the responses to this community question.

“I’m unable to view the list of resources, and my FME Flow uses Windows Active Directory.”

This may be caused by an Active Directory property for Kerberos preauthentication. Please review the known issue article.
