Introduction

As of September 26th, 2023, there have been no new updates to the FME AR mobile app on Android devices. The FME AR mobile app for Android has been deprecated and will no longer be maintained or updated. We are instead focusing our development efforts on improving the FME AR mobile app on Apple iOS devices.

The FME AR mobile app for Android depends on the FME Mobile app to access 3D files, which has also been deprecated. For more information on the FME Mobile app deprecation, see the deprecation article.

Symptom

If the FME AR mobile app is currently installed on your Android device, it can still be used, but it is not recommended as it is out of date and will not be updated. Currently, the app is still available in the Google Play Store but may be removed at any time without notice.

Workaround

The FME AR mobile app is still available on Apple iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. The Apple iOS version is still being maintained and updated to match the latest iOS hardware and features.

The FME AR mobile app for iOS devices will be getting a large update in the foreseeable future and may not be supported on older iOS devices. Please see FME Platform Technical Specifications for which iOS versions are supported.
