Introduction
There have been some changes to using and accessing the MaptTextLabeller transformer in FME.
MapTextLabeller Changes
Editing Parameters
Starting with FME 2025.0, there are additional changes to Safe Software’s support for the MapTextLabeller transformer. Workspaces containing MapTextLabeller can still be opened and run with FME 2025.0. However, the settings for the MapTextLabeller transformer itself are no longer editable in FME Form 2025.0 without first upgrading MapTextLabeller.
To upgrade MapTextLabeller, install the latest version of MapTextLabeller. Then in FME Form, right-click on the transformer and click Upgrade Transformer. For more information, please see Upgrading MapTextLabeller.
When upgrading MapTextLabeller is not an option, FME 2024.2.5 is the recommended version for editing workspaces.
Downloading the MapTextLabeller Plugin
As of FME 2024.0, the MapTextLabeller Plugin will no longer be sold as a 3rd party plugin by Safe Software, but the Plugin will be directly available from MapText as a package. Existing customers who already have the MapTextLabeller may continue to use Safe Software’s FME 2023.x and earlier versions of the Plugin or choose to upgrade to the FME 2024.0 version of the Plugin provided directly by MapText.
