Transformers with an Optional Input Port

Introduction

Starting in FME 2025.2, many transformers have been updated to include an optional input port. Previously, a transformer, such as the Creator, was required to start a workspace but provided no meaningful input to subsequent transformers, such as the HTTPCaller or FeatureReader. To simplify the process of starting workspaces for new users, we have updated a selection of transformers that no longer require the Creator to run. 

Workspaces currently using a creator will continue to function as expected, and no updates are required at this time. 

For the package transformers, you will need to update the package to the current version in order to use the optional input port features.
