Symptom
Working with an Esri format such as Esri Geodatabase (Geodb ArcObjects), you encounter an error similar to the following:The error number from ArcObjects is: '2147220936'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {ArcGIS product not specified. You must first bind to an ArcGIS version prior to using any ArcGIS components.}
The error message does not seem to relate to the problem.Cause
This issue is caused when an error is encountered that does not contain an error message. When this occurs, FME will display the last message provided by Esri along with the correct ArcObjects error code. Most commonly, the message will be " ArcGIS product not specified. You must first bind to an ArcGIS version prior to using any ArcGIS components.", however, it could be a different message as well.Resolution
In these cases, the ArcObjects Error code displayed will pertain to the actual error that you are encountering. For example:The error number from ArcObjects is: '2147220936'
