Considerations

To use the Microsoft Access (ACCDB) reader/writer on a system without installing Microsoft Office, you need the correct ACE provider from Microsoft.

How to Ensure Compatibility

Install the correct bit version of the ACE provider from Microsoft.

  • You can only install one version at a time (32-bit or 64-bit). They cannot coexist.
  • The ACE provider must match your version of FME (32-bit or 64-bit).

Download the Microsoft Access Runtime

Please note that Safe Software's technical support for FME 2021.2 will end in August 2025. This means that 32-bit versions of FME will no longer be supported. To continue to receive technical support for FME, please upgrade your operating systems to 64-bit and download a newer version.
