How to create a hillshade image with the RasterHillshader

Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to quickly create a hillshade image from a DEM using the RasterHillshader transformer.

 

Source Data

For this translation, we will be using a Canadian Digital Elevation Data (CDED) file.

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Generate a DEM (or CDED) to GeoTiff workspace.
  2. Insert a RasterHillshader transformer and open its parameters.
  3. Review the parameters. The default Azimuth and Altitude are recommended.
  4. Run the translation and inspect the output.
