Introduction

Log management services now form a critical part of many organizations' toolkits for maintaining uptime for their applications. There are many log management solutions on the market, and they all offer roughly the same set of features:

  • Consolidation - Logs from apps and infrastructure are made available for teams in one place. This aids in rapid troubleshooting.
  • Exploration and analysis - Intuitive interfaces and fast searches let you filter and explore logs much more easily than the FME Flow UI. You can also graph trends in your logs.
  • Alerting - Proactively monitor the logs and build alerts so you can get notified whenever a particular exception occurs in unacceptable numbers. All services integrate with standard tools such as Slack, GitHub, Jira, PagerDuty, etc.

There are multiple ways to integrate application logs with all of these platforms. This tutorial walks you through the FME Flow log files in detail, it then focuses on integrating with specific cloud services.
