Known Issue: FME not launching on macOS Big Sur

Issue

After upgrading to macOS Big Sur, FME Workbench does not open when trying to launch from /Applications/<FME Version>/
This issue appears to only impact Mac computers with an Intel processor and not with Apple silicon. If you’re encountering an issue with a Mac computer using an Apple silicon, please submit a case to support.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in FME 2020.2.4 build 20825 or newer. 

If you need to use previous versions of FME, please launch FME Workbench via the /Library/ rather than /Applications/ : 

1. In Finder navigate to /Library/FME/<version>/Apps > Open FME Workbench App
2. To avoid having to do this every time you want to use FME, pin the application to the Dock, and use this for future launching (Context Menu > Options > Keep in Dock).
