FME Version

Introduction

In 2015 Microsoft released the Edge browser to replace Internet Explorer, and since 2020 has reduced support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11). Microsoft has retired IE11 as of June 15, 2022.

Due to this retirement, Safe Software has decided to stop supporting IE11 for FME Server as of FME Server 2022.1.

Impacted Products

  • FME Server 2022.1: Users will not see much change in the Web UI functionality.
  • FME Server 2023.0 or newer: Users will start to see a significant degradation to the Web UI and functionality, as we upgrade our tools and libraries that have also discontinued IE11 support.

Support

As of FME Server 2022.1, we will no longer support bug fixes or issues that are related to IE11. Please use a supported web browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. If the issue persists in another web browser, please contact Support

Outcome

By dropping support for IE11, we can focus on making FME Server more modern, improving performance, and removing IE11-specific code which might reduce the file size.
